Fire at Colton’s Steak House & Grill in Sikeston caused by rooftop unit, officials say

SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at Colton’s Steak House & Grill in Sikeston, according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Fire crews responded around 4 a.m. April 28 to the restaurant on the south end of the city. First responders reported seeing smoke and flames coming from the roof.

Officials said the fire was extinguished and was determined to have started from an HVAC unit on the roof.

The Sikeston DPS Fire Division was assisted by the Scott County Rural Fire Protection District and the Morehouse Fire and Rescue Department.
