Fire burns field near Brewer

BREWER, Mo. (KBSI) – Fire crews in Perry County, Missouri put out a large field fire Monday in the community of Brewer.

Dry and windy conditions helped the fire spread quickly.

One farmer says the flames came within 20 feet of his barn where most of his equipment is.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire before the flames could reach the barn.

This came on the same day the Perry County Commission issued a “No Burn Advisory” for the county effective until further notice.

Jason Klaus, the Sheriff for Perry County Sheriff’s Department says, “We are urging the public to use extreme caution with the dry and the heat, and wind that we’re experiencing, one little spark could change into a very large fire.”

The commission cites extremely hot and dry conditions.
