Fire crews battle overnight house fire in West Frankfort

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) — Firefighters from eight agencies battled frigid temperatures while responding to a house fire early Tuesday morning in West Frankfort.

The fire broke out at a home in the 400 block of South Parkhill Street. Upon arrival, crews reported heavy flames coming from the front of the residence.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it caused damage to nearby structures.

The West Frankfort Fire Department was assisted by Benton Fire, Herrin Fire, Cave-Eastern Fire, Buckner Fire, Zeigler Fire, Johnston City Fire and Marion Fire. AMR Ambulance and United EMS also responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
