Fire crews rescue two from Marion fire

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – Marion Fire Rescue responded to a fire where two people were rescued by firefighters, on Tuesday, March 19 at 10:26 a.m.
The Marion Fire Department was dispatched to 701 North Vicksburg for a structure fire.
While enroute, the fire department was advised of two elderly people still inside the structure.
Upon arrival, the back garage was fully engulfed with fire, and the rear of the home was also heavily involved and extended into the attic space.
Fire crews entered the front of the structure with heavy smoke conditions and began rescue efforts.
Fire crews quickly located and removed both victims and continued fire attack.
No additional victims were located.
The rescued victims were treated on scene by paramedics, and both refused any further treatment.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Marion Fire Department.
