Fire damages home in Jackson

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI)- At 2:58a.m. on March 31, the Jackson Fire Rescue crew was dispatched to the 2600 block of Braun Drive for a first alarm fire.
Crews were dispatched to a back deck on fire but before emergency vehicles arrived on scene dispatch reported the fire had already spread into the house.
Firetruck E23 arrived on scene and reported the Bravo side on the house on fire along with the deck.
While crews were making entry into the residence the roof over the living room collapsed.
Firetruck E13 and E23 handled fire attack stopping the fire from consuming the whole structure.
A working fire was called in, bringing mutual aid to the scene from Cape, Fruitland and Gordonville to assist with additional fire attack and overhaul.
The occupants and their animal were able to get out safe.
Crews helped the occupants salvage some of their items out of the residence.
No injuries were reported.
Jackson Police, Jackson Utilities and CCPA were also on scene.
With the amount of damage, the structure is a total loss.
The fire cause is undetermined. The back deck was the point of origin for the fire.
Crews left the scene around 5:30 am and turned the property back over to the owner.
