Fire destroys Marion home; no injuries reported

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — No injuries were reported after a large house fire late this morning in the 1300 block of W. Malden Street, according to Tim Barnett.
Fire crews were called to the scene about 11:15 a.m. At one point, flames were visible shooting through the roof of the home.
Barnett said the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire and was deemed a total loss.
The Herrin Fire Department, Marion Police Department and United Medical Response assisted at the scene.
No additional information was immediately available.
