Firefighters battle apartment fire in south St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to an apartment fire in the 9000 block of Arthur Lane, near Lindbergh Boulevard and Tesson Ferry Road.

The first-arriving units from the Mehlville Fire Protection District reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof upon arrival.

Multiple surrounding departments assisted at the scene, including the Affton Fire Protection District, Webster Groves Fire Department, Fenton Fire Protection District, Kirkwood Fire / Rescue, Shrewsbury Professional Firefighters IAFF 2665, and Crestwood Professional Firefighters Community Outreach.

Canteen volunteers with 13Canteen and 17Canteen remained on scene for nearly three hours to support first responders.
