Firefighters battle fire at bowling alley in Jackson
JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) – Jackson firefighters fought a fire at the Jackson Bowling Alley early Wednesday morning.
The fire department was dispatched to E. Monroe Street at the Jackson Bowling Alley for reports of smoke showing at 1:30 a.m.
Responding Jackson Fire units arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke from all sides of the building.
The Cape Girardeau Fire Department, Fruitland Area Fire Protection District and off duty Jackson Fire Rescue personnel were called to the scene.
East County Fire Protection District and Gordonville Fire Protection District went to the Jackson Fire Rescue stations to cover the city.
Crews went into offensive fire attack with interior conditions met with heavy smoke and fire.
Crews remained on scene until around 5 a.m.
The Missouri State Fire Marshall was called to the scene to investigate per standard procedure. The state fire marshall arrived at 5:30 a.m.
Additional Jackson Fire Rescue members will remain on scene until the Fire Marshall is finished investigating.
Then the scene will be turned over to property owner.
