MARTIN, Tn., (KBSI) — Firefighters with the Martin Fire Department’s C-Shift responded to two fires Tuesday afternoon.

The first fire occurred on Highway 45 South when a trackhoe’s cab caught fire after embers from a burn pile were blown back by the wind.

A short time later, firefighters responded to a wildland fire in a residential backyard off Howell Road.

The fire spread quickly, nearing the house.

Fire officials remind residents to exercise caution when burning outdoors and to keep a water source nearby in case fires get out of control.
