Firefighters put out fire at wood processing facility in Miner

MINER, Mo. (KBSI) – Firefighters fought a fire at a wood processing facility in Miner Friday night.

Miner Fire Chief Justin Keller says a fire broke out at Heartland Wood Products.

Firefighters were called at 7:46 p.m. on January 12.

High winds and cold conditions made the fire difficult to put out.

Chief Keller says Interstate 55 and North Interstate Drive was shut down for a short time until winds shifted to lift some smoke off the road.

Fire departments from Sikeston, Morehouse and Scott County Rural helped fight the fire.

No one was injured.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
