Firefighters put out house fire in Cobalt Village

COBALT VILLAGE, Mo. (KBSI) – Firefighters fought a house fire in Cobalt Village Tuesday night.

The Fredericktown Fire Department was called to the 700 block of Mulberry Street in Cobalt Village for a residential fire on Tuesday, January 2 around 9 p.m.

Firefighters found fire throughout the attic of the home. It originated from a wood stove flue pipe.

Crews brought the fire under control and contained it to the attic space.

Those living in the home evacuated before the department arrived.

No one was injured.

Firefighters would like to remind resident that with the winter in full force it is important to have flue pipes routinely inspected and cleaned.
