Firefighters put out overnight fire in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Firefighters worked overnight to put out a fire at a home in Carbonbdale.

Carbondale firefighters responded to a report of smoke and fire in the area of North Marion and East Fisher Streets in Carbondale at 11:27 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26.

The first firefighting crews arrived on the scene to find a fully involved fire at 1205 North Marion Street.

The crews initiated a defensive attack and got the fire under control around midnight.

Fire crews continued to perform salvage and overhaul. They also conducted investigation activities until clearing at 4:05 a.m.

No one was injured during the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Murphysboro firefighters and Carbondale police officers also responded to the scene.
