Firefighters put out pole barn fire in Kelso

KELSO, Mo. (KBSI) – Firefighters put out a fire at a woodworking business in Kelso Thursday morning.

Scott City firefighters were dispatched at 6:35 a.m. to a pole barn fire off of Highway PP.

When crews arrived, they found smoke showing from all sides as well as neighboring structures.

A preliminary cause of the fire is a wood burning stove in the pole barn, according to a firefighter with the Scott City Fire Department.

No one was injured.

Mutual aid from multiple departments help fight the fire.

Crews left the scene of the fire at 8:58 a.m.
