Firefighters rescue dog in frozen pond
NEW MELLE, Mo. (KBSI) – The New Melle Fire Department was able to rescue a dog from falling through a frozen pond Tuesday.
As the temperature rises from freezing, there is a high risk of falling through melting ice of lakes and ponds.
Officials are warning people and pet owners of the danger.
In New Melle, a pup was strolling on a frozen pond when the ice broke and the dog became trapped.
The owner called for help, fearing that she would also become stuck if she were to help.
Thanks to the New Melle Fire Dept., the dog was successfully rescued.
