Firefighters respond to Cape Girardeau bakery and cafe
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Firefighters are on the scene of bakery and cafe in Cape Girardeau.
A fire truck and other fire department vehicles responded to My Daddy’s Cheesecake about 11 a.m. on Thursday.
My Daddy’s Cheesecake officials say there was a question towards one of the breakers that seemed to be malfunctioning. Fire department has checked the HVAC systems, and all is well and the bakery is open to the public.
Brad Dillow, Battalion Chief, Cape Girardeau Fire Department says,
“It did have an electrical smell, on the second floor around the panel, we determined that it was possibly linked to the HVAC unit on top the building after further investigation pulling the panel apart working with Dutch Enterprise, we determined there was some electrical arching inside the panel and that’s what cause the burnt smell.”
