Firefighters train on drafting operations, dry hydrants for rural firefighting
GORDONVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) – Firefighters underwent training Sunday on drafting operations and toured the district to familiarize themselves with established dry hydrants.
Dry hydrants are non-pressurized piping systems installed in water sources such as ponds or streams, providing a consistent water supply for firefighting in areas without traditional hydrants.
The department expressed gratitude to community members who allow access to their property for this critical aspect of firefighting, emphasizing their role in community life safety.
