First-ever Clock and Watch show hosted at Osage Centre

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri held its first-ever Clock and Watch Show at the Osage Center, drawing collectors from all over to share their collections.
Usually held in bigger cities like St. Louis, this event was brought to life by P&A Watch and Clock Repair Service, Owner Paul Davis.
Barnes and other vendors were excited to share their passion for clock and watch collecting with the community, highlighting the history behind many of the items on display.
“We have the history of them, you have the artwork, you know, clocks and watches for their computer of the day they’re and it’s amazing how these things are still running,” Barnes added.
The event gave vendors a chance to show off their collections with each other, providing a space for like-minded individuals to connect and learn from each other.
Lynn Solomon, one of the event’s participants, said, “We’ve shared information about our different kinds of passions that we have, about certain kinds that we like to collect, [and] find out lots of information about the tools that they used to.”
In addition to catering to people with an existing interest in clock and watch repair and collecting, members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) hoped that supporting events like this would bring in a younger crowd.
“We’re having difficulty bringing younger people into the clock and watch collect, and it’s a wonderful hobby, and you can turn it into a good career by doing watch and clock repair and we’re promoting that, ” said Bob Burton, a board member of NAWCC.
