Flock camera helps authorities arrest juvenile wanted in connection with Kentucky murder

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Flock camera alert helped authorities locate and arrest a juvenile wanted in connection with a murder investigation in Kentucky.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers assisted Christian County Sheriff’s Office deputies in arresting the juvenile, who was wanted by Kentucky State Police in connection with a murder that occurred in another county.
Police said a vehicle associated with a law enforcement be-on-the-lookout alert, or BOLO, was detected by a Flock camera in Hopkinsville on Aug. 23. The alert provided authorities with information indicating the suspect’s vehicle had entered the area.
The juvenile was later taken into custody with assistance from Hopkinsville police.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office also highlighted the arrest, crediting Hopkinsville police with putting the camera technology to use.
Flock cameras are automated license plate-reading cameras that can alert law enforcement when vehicles associated with wanted people, missing or endangered people, stolen vehicles or other active investigations are detected.
Hopkinsville police said the information in this case helped authorities confirm that a vehicle associated with someone wanted in connection with a murder had entered the community.
Authorities did not identify the juvenile or provide additional information about the murder investigation in the posts.
