Flooding, rain impacts runners’ route

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The flooding that happened in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday threw off the routines of a couple runners who usually take the same route.

“So me and my buddy Hunter, we woke up at 8,” said runner Ryan Seabaugh. “We were planning to run but at first we were going to wait for the rain to stop but we were like no let’s go on the trail. This morning we got here, looking like this, we just switched the route out, but we might go for a swim after.”

“Yeah, it’s pretty aggravating not being able to run but the swim might help there,” joked Hunter Wendel.

Hunter and Ryan say they were eventually able to continue their run and get in some exercise despite the stormy weather.
