Floodwaters impact Reynolds County campers

REYNOLDS COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – Reynolds County, Iron County and surrounding areas saw heavy rainfall creating flooding. 

First responders taking to social media saying they are actively responding to emergency situations related to flooding as they come. 

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office the area received more than 12 inches of rain fall. Campgrounds along area rivers flooded affecting people camping and vacationing including the Johnson Shut-In’s campground where many campers could be seen leaving the area today and the Reynolds County Emergency Management Agency says that area was directly impacted by flooding causing multiple water rescues from many local agencies.

Agency’s encourage safety first urging drivers to never cross moving or running water during or after flooding.
