Florida being hit hard by another Hurricane and The American Red Cross from Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas Region helping with hands open
CAPE GIRARDEAU Mo. (KBSI) – The American Red Cross from Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas Region have increased their volunteers to nearly 80 people helping in any way they can.
Meals, blankets, cots, and shelter are being provided to the citizens of Florida.
Micheal Sullivan, the Executive Director for the American Red Cross here says he’s grateful for the volunteers who are sacrificing so much to help others.
“We’re so grateful to have our volunteers. When people sign up to be a volunteer we provide them the basic training to respond to these types of disasters and so they just have a heart for it they want to help others. These are the darkest hours for many people going through a tragedy like this and so when our volunteers show up they are to provide comfort and hope and just help address those immediate needs,” said Sullivan.
The Red Cross is encouraging people to sign up to be a volunteer and donate blood you can find out how to do that on the link below.
