Florida man facing several charges after crash on Brookport Bridge

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Florida man faces several charges after an injury crash Tuesday on the Brookport Bridge.
McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on the Brookport Bridge around 1:16 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2.
Carl Poole, 60, of Tampa, Florida faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of substance 1st offense (aggravating circumstances), wanton endangerment 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fatima Hollis, 48, Carbondale Ill. was driving a 2019 Hyundai southbound on the Brookport Bridge entering Kentucky from Illinois.
Her vehicle was struck from the rear by a 2019 Nissan driven by Carl Poole, 60, of Tampa, Florida, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Poole was determined to be under the influence and in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hollis was taken by Mercy Regional EMS to a local hospital for non-incapacitating injuries.
The Brookport Bridge was shut down for about 50 minutes.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Massac County Sheriff’s Office, Mercy Regional EMS, Concord Fire and Prestige Towing.
