Food truck rally at Arena Park on 4th of July
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Fourth of July is finally here and many people are celebrating with good food and fireworks.
“They stop by, eat some good food, watch some fireworks and ‘merica right?” said Chef Sam Lacey with the One Up Food Truck.
That patriotic spirit is not hard to find at Arena Park, as Fourth of July celebrations got underway with a food truck rally.
Lacey says patriotism is what fuels the large crowds destined for Arena Park.
“We’re expecting a great turn out,” Lacey said ahead of the event.
Suzana Long, owner of Pork Dogs Food Truck, says the fireworks have always been a favorite Fourth of July tradition for her, and now her food truck gets to join in on the fun.
“I just really enjoy watching the fireworks myself, see the kids, their eyes just light up, and that’s just a memory you can’t forget,” said Long.
This event also features the Southeast Missourian Spirit of America Award Presentation and a performance by the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band in the Arena Park Grandstands.
And of course, there’s the firework display to wrap up a full day of fun.
“I think that’s why we love Fourth of July so much, and we get to blow stuff up,” said Lacey.
