Fore the Scouts Golf Classic draws more than 50 golfers, raises money for Boy Scouts of America

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Dozens of golfers hit the links at Cape Girardeau Country Club on Friday to support Boy Scouts of America.
The first ever Fore the Scouts Golf Classic raised money to fund several Scouts programs, including aiding scouter families in need and supporting the Boy Scouts in-school program.
Shawnee District Executive Chance Ziegler explained by it is important to support your local Boy Scouts troop.
“Scouting helps kids be prepared for life,” he said. “We’re helping teach those soft skills where kids learn self-reliance, where kids learn how to be strong individuals, they learn how to problem-solve. and at the end of the day, they learn that they can achieve anything they put their mind to with the proper plan.”
