Former Calloway County Sheriff David Balentine remembered for decades of service

MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of former Sheriff David Balentine, who served the county for more than a decade.

Balentine began his service with the sheriff’s office in 1974 and served as sheriff from 1982 to 1986.

He was remembered for his integrity, leadership, and commitment to the safety and well-being of the community, the department said in a statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him,” the statement read. “Thank you, Sheriff Balentine, for your many years of service to Calloway County.”
