Former Gordonville Fire Department member Michael Kasten dies

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Michael “Mike” Kasten, a former emergency department member and board member, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was 63.

Kasten was born June 10, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, to Harold Lee and Mary Louise Oberndorfer Kasten. He married Donna Louise Peters on Oct. 19, 1991.

Kasten worked in the auto parts industry and was a volunteer firefighter. He was also a longtime member of Zion Methodist Church of Gordonville.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; sister, Susan Rundel of Crane, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday, Feb. 1, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.
