Former jail employee faces charges for bringing drugs to inmates in exchange for money

MCCRACKEN COUNTY. (KBSI) – A former jail employee faces charges for bringing narcotics into a jail he used to work for.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Stephen Carter of the McCracken County Jail contacted the Sheriff’s Office on September 24, 2024 to report that narcotics had been found inside the jail and an investigation had started.
Thier investigation led them to a former jail employee Gage Walker aged 28 of Mayfield, Kentucky.
Deputies say that Walker had brought narcotics into the jail and supplied them to an inmate.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office located Walker.
Walker admitted to bringing narcotics into the jail on numerous occasions in exchange for money from outside sources.
Walker faces a charge of Promoting Contraband – 1st Degree.
Walker was arrested and is being held in the Marshall County Jail.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are likely.
