Former Kentucky Chamber President pleads guilty to theft

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Monday that Allison Morris, 48, of Graves County, has pleaded guilty to stealing from the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce.

Morris, the former chamber president, pleaded guilty in Graves County Circuit Court to one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition, a Class C felony. She admitted to stealing funds between May 2021 and February 2024 to pay for personal expenses.

As part of the plea agreement, Morris will pay $20,000 in restitution to the chamber and receive a five-year sentence. Her sentencing is scheduled for April 22.

A Graves County Grand Jury indicted Morris in May 2024. The Kentucky State Police investigated the case, and Assistant Attorney General Lindsey Studebaker prosecuted it.

Coleman praised investigators and prosecutors for holding Morris accountable, saying the community needed leaders focused on rebuilding after the Western Kentucky tornadoes.
