Former Kentucky juvenile justice officer is charged on criminal abuse charges

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) — A former correctional officer at the McCracken Regional Juvenile Detention Center has been charged on criminal abuse charges following an investigation by the Kentucky State Police (KSP).
Tyler G. Lynn, 30, of Paducah, was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal abuse after authorities determined he used excessive force against two male juveniles in his care. The investigation found that the incidents, which occurred on October 15, 2024, resulted in both juveniles sustaining arm fractures.
The Kentucky State Police Post 1 in Mayfield launched the investigation at the request of the Department of Juvenile Justice. After presenting the findings to a grand jury on February 28, prosecutors secured an indictment against Lynn.
State police arrested Lynn on March 6, and he was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
