Former Missouri Governor, US Senator Kit Bond dies at 86

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., (KBSI) — Former U.S. Sen. and Missouri Gov. Christopher S. “Kit” Bond died Monday in St. Louis at 86, Gov. Mike Kehoe announced.

Bond served 40 years in public office, advocating for Missouri’s interests and leaving a lasting legacy in the state.

Kehoe praised Bond as a skilled statesman and public servant who “truly loved Missouri.”

Flags will be flown at half-staff at government buildings statewide from Monday until Bond’s burial. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
