Former Secretary of State Colin Powell dies
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLNE) – Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has died of complications from COVID-19.
His family posting the news on Facebook. The post reads, “We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American.” He was 84.
Powell was the first Black U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush. He was also the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President George H.W. Bush.
He family also noted that Powell was fully vaccinated.
