Fort Campbell soldier indicted on child exploitation charges

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A federal grand jury has indicted a 23-year-old Fort Campbell soldier on charges of enticement and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Cameron Lawrence was charged with one count of enticement of a minor, two counts of attempted enticement of a minor and two counts of sexual exploitation of children, according to the indictment.

Lawrence made his initial court appearance on June 3 and was ordered detained pending trial.

If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
