FOUND: Inmate who escaped from Graves County work release detail arrested

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Kentucky State Police Post 1 arrested an inmate who escaped from a work release detail in Graves County Friday morning.

KSP was notified around 7:45 a.m. that Nathan Williams ran from deputy jailers on foot and was last seen running northbound in the area of US 45 North and Park Terrace Drive in Mayfield.

He was found near General Street in Mayfield. KSP thanks the citizens who reported sightings of Williams and helped detain him. KSP was also assisted by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office and Mayfield Police Department.

Williams was in custody at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and on a work release detail at the State Highway Department on Crittenden Road in Graves County when he ran from deputy jailers, according to KSP.

Troopers and other law enforcement officers are in the area trying to find Williams.

Nathan Williams is described as a 36-year-old white male with red hair and hazel eyes. He stands approximately 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 148 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a short sleeve gray shirt. Williams has ties to Campbell and Kenton counties.

Williams was in custody for convictions of theft by unlawful taking, possession of stolen mail matter, theft of controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, receiving stolen property and probation violation.
