The operation took place around 9 a.m. Feb. 25 in the area of North 12th Street and Northview Street. Police said the arrests followed several controlled drug purchases conducted by detectives throughout February.

Yul Reese Jr. was found in possession of more than one pound of suspected synthetic drugs, along with digital scales and U.S. currency, police said. Authorities also reported a firearm was located in the room. Reese Jr., who police said is a convicted felon stemming from an aggravated battery conviction in Illinois, was charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
All charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
