Four-wheeler driver wanted in Mount Vernon identified

MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – Police found a four-wheeler driver who was wanted in Mount Vernon.

Mayor who the mayor says has caused damage at numerous buildings.

Mount Vernon Mayor John Lewis asked for the public’s help identifying a four-wheeler driver he says has caused damage at schools, businesses, and government buildings.

Over the last two weeks there has been a person on a four-wheeler recklessly driving on Mt. Vernon streets and causing damage to property at schools, businesses, and government buildings, according to Mayor Lewis.

The person has driven the four-wheeler at a high speed and reckless manner in Veterans Park with people in the area and around events where children were present, according to Mayor Lewis.

Mayor Lewis says the person drives the four-wheeler at high rates of speed on major roadways and disobeys traffic control devices while at high speeds.

When confronted by law enforcement he fleed.
