Frankfort CUSD #168 board approves three-year teachers’ contract

WEST FRANKFORT, Ill., (KBSI) – The Frankfort Community Unit School District #168 Board of Education voted 5-2 Thursday evening to approve a new three-year collective bargaining agreement with its teachers, represented by the American Federation of Teachers Local #817.

The agreement includes a 0.5 salary step increase in the first year, a 1.0 step in the second year, and a 1.5 step in the third year. It also contains language updates related to insurance and procedural matters.

With the teachers’ contract now finalized, the Board will begin negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement with its para-professional teachers’ aides, represented by AFT Local #6124, whose contract has expired.
