WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (KBSI) — Frankfort Community High School Principal Aaron Hill has resigned effective immediately, according to Frankfort Community Unit School District No. 168.

The district announced Monday that the Board of Education received an irrevocable letter of resignation from Hill.

Hill had been on paid administrative leave since February after district officials said they learned through public sources that he had been arrested and booked into the Franklin County Jail in connection with an incident that occurred outside of school.

At the time, district officials said they had received no information indicating the allegations involved student safety or students.

District officials said they are now accepting applications for the principal position at Frankfort Community High School and will continue accepting applications until the position is filled.

The Board of Education is planning a special meeting June 11 to consider personnel matters.
