Franklin County authorities seek whereabouts of absconded sex offender

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Brent H. Faucett, 32, a convicted sex offender who is required to register and is now wanted after allegedly removing his electronic monitoring device.
According to the sheriff’s office, Faucett was arrested on Nov. 16, 2025, by the Marissa Police Department for failing to register as a sex offender. He was later granted pretrial release in St. Clair County and placed on electronic monitoring.
Faucett updated his registration on Nov. 21 to an address in Coello. On Dec. 2, the sheriff’s office was notified that Faucett had removed his monitoring device and left the residence.
Anyone with information on Faucett’s location is urged to contact local law enforcement or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 618-438-4841. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through the “Submit a Tip” feature on the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office mobile app.
