Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies warn of scam

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies warn the public of a scam.

The sheriff’s office received an anonymous tip on July 18 via the office’s mobile app about a scam.

The sender said a black Cadillac came to his/her home and a person told him/her that he/she was collection donations for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office only received this one report of this happening.

Anyone who has contact with the person asking for donations on behalf of the sheriff’s office is asked to call the sheriff’s office immediately at (618) 438-4841.
