CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man faces a rape charge after a party at a fraternity house on Oct. 23.

Paul Raymond Fears, 22, faces a rape – second degree charge.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim told police that Fears approached her while she was waiting for a ride outside, grabbed her hand and asked her to follow him to his bedroom. That’s when she says he “threw” her on a couch, locked the door and then place her on the bed where he allegedly assaulted her. The victim told Fears several times to stop, according to court documents.

When some females knocked on the door calling for her, she said Fears placed his hand over her mouth. When someone opened the bedroom door, Fears got up to shut the door and that’s when the victim put her clothing on and left the room, according to the probable cause statement.

His bond was set at $50,000 cash only with conditions. His initial arraignment is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 22.
