Fredericktown Board recognizes students for state-level achievements

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo., (KBSI) — The Fredericktown R-I Board of Education recognized dozens of Fredericktown High School students during its June meeting for their participation and accomplishments in state-level academic, leadership and athletic competitions.
Students honored represented a variety of programs, including DECA, FFA, Future Business Leaders of America, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, choir, band, golf and track and field.
Among those recognized were DECA competitors Cooper Page and Brock Neel; FFA and barbecue team members Lauryn Mell and Grant Thompson; and FBLA participants Katelyn Hebert, Kane St. Nicholas and Adrian Biesemeyer.
Track and field athletes recognized included Lauryn Mell, Averee Kelley and Lauren Hale, who each earned All-State honors in the javelin. Dylan Melvin was recognized as the Class 3 state champion in the 110-meter hurdles and an All-State finisher in the 300-meter hurdles.
Students also were honored for participation in state FCCLA competitions and programs, state choir competitions, state band competitions and the state golf tournament.
School officials said the students represented Fredericktown and their community with pride through their achievements and participation at the state level.
