FREDERICKTOWN, Mo., (KBSI) — A Fredericktown man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into the online distribution of child sexual abuse material, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control said Anthony R. Dorsey, 42, was arrested after investigators with the Special Victims Unit received two CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June. The tips indicated an online user had distributed child sexual abuse material.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Dorsey’s residence on June 29, where they said they found evidence of child sexual abuse material on an electronic device.
Dorsey was arrested and taken to the Madison County Jail.
On June 30, the Madison County Prosecuting Attorney charged Dorsey with one count of promoting child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages anyone who encounters inappropriate or sexualized online communications involving children to report the activity to law enforcement.
The charges are allegations, and Dorsey is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
