Free camping at state parks during Illinois State Fair

ILLINOIS (KBSI) -Two free nights of camping are available at select state parks during the 2024 Illinois State Fair.

How to sign up:

  • Purchase a 2024 Illinois State Fair admissions booklet between Jun. 26 and Jul. 3.
  • Secure a campsite by filling out a form with a receipt of your admissions booklet purchase before Jul. 3. Link will open on Jun. 26.
  • Approved campers will be noticed by email

Earliest check in for campers is on Aug. 11 at 3:00 p.m. The last day for free camping is on Aug. 16 at 1:00 p.m. There is a limit of one campsite per fair booklet purchased. The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDNR) cannot guarantee preferred campsites and all sales are final.

  • Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic Site
  • Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area
