Friends of Wyatt push for Childhood Cancer Awareness license plates in Missouri

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month begins, the nonprofit Friends of Wyatt is making a final push to bring Childhood Cancer Awareness license plates to Missouri roadways.

The effort is deeply personal for the group’s founders, who launched the organization after their son, Wyatt, was diagnosed with cancer at age 2. Twelve years later, they are focused on helping families facing similar challenges while raising awareness and funding for research and support.

Friends of Wyatt has future events planned for 2026, but leaders said their immediate priority is securing enough applications to make the specialty plates a reality.

“We are nearly there, and we just need the community’s help to get to the finish line,” the group said in a statement.

The plate application is available online at Friends of Wyatt with the direct form accessible at this link.
