Frogging season in Missouri begins June 30

(KBSI) – Bullfrog hunting season in Missouri is from June 30 through October 31 in 2024.

Fish or small-game hunting permits are required to hunt green frogs and bullfrogs with a daily limit of 16 frogs of both species. The limit ends at midnight every night.

Fishing permit: Catch frogs by hand, hand net, atlatl, gig, bow, trotline, throwline, limb line, bank line, jug line, snagging, snaring, grabbing, or pole-and-line.

Small game hunting permit: Catch frogs by pistol, pellet gun, atlatl, bow, crossbow, hand, hand net, or a .22-caliber or smaller rimfire rifle or pistol, pellet gun, atlatl, bow, crossbow, or by hand or hand net.

Artificial lighting is not allowed for either permit.
