Fruitland Fire Protection District to dedicate first Safe Haven Baby Box
KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) – The Fruitland Area Fire Protection District will host a dedication and blessing ceremony for Cape Girardeau County’s first Safe Haven Baby Box on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m.
The event will take place at Fire Station No. 1, located at 7273 U.S. Highway 61 in Jackson.
Safe Haven Baby Boxes provide a secure, anonymous option for mothers in crisis to safely surrender their newborns. The initiative is intended to ensure infants are received with dignity and care while offering parents in difficult circumstances an alternative that protects both the child and mother.
The installation was made possible through community support, including contributions from Putz Construction LLC and the Drury Southwest Foundation.
