Fugitive indicted on meth trafficking charge arrested in McCracken County

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A fugitive sought by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office has been apprehended, according to authorities.
Shortly after issuing a news release Friday afternoon, the sheriff’s office reported that 55-year-old James P. Cheatham was taken into custody by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 2:33 p.m.
Cheatham had been indicted by a Graves County grand jury in connection with an Oct. 27, 2025, arrest on a charge of trafficking in crystal methamphetamine in Graves County.
Authorities said Cheatham has ties to Graves and McCracken counties, as well as Florida.
No additional details were immediately released.
