Garage fire spreads to Cape Girardeau home, no injuries reported

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to a residential fire late Tuesday night in the 1700 block of Cecilia Street.
Crews were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to 1756 Cecilia St. for a reported garage fire at an occupied home.
Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the garage and extending into the residence. Command was established, and crews began fire suppression efforts while conducting a primary search of the structure. Officials confirmed no occupants were inside at the time.
The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes of arrival. Crews remained on scene for approximately three hours to conduct overhaul operations and ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The fire was determined to be unintentional.
