Glenallen tornado survivor finds late father’s truck salvageable

GLENALLEN, Mo. (KBSI)- “That was my dad’s truck, he passed away, and I want to try and save it, but I don’t think there’s gunna be no way…”

John Stanfill is a veteran and survivor of the Glenallen EF2 tornado that shred its way through homes and businesses.

And caused trees to fall over Stanfill’s most prized possession…His late father’s truck. “We got to look and started to cut some branches off, trying to see if it was going to be salvageable, and seeing that it might be if we could get some of the limbs off.”

Stanfill had the help of his brother, neighbors, and volunteers to remove the fallen trees…”And they lifted it up, drove it right out…’That truck meant a lot to you didn’t it?’…Yes ma’am it did, ‘It meant everything?’…Yup, when I seen it pullout, I was happy!”

For Stanfill and his family, it was a happy moment during a difficult time as they and their neighbors continue the process of searching for their beloved possessions and heirlooms.
