Golconda man facing burglary, weapons charges

MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – A Golconda man faces burglary and a weapons charge after Massac County Sheriff’s deputies say he stole several times from a home.
Jason A. Francis, 34, of Golconda faces charges of possession of a weapon by a felon and residential burglary.
Massac County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Mt. Mission Road and Rocky Branch Road about a man acting suspicious on Thursday, March 21 shortly after 8 a.m.
When a deputy found the man he ran away.
Deputies began searching for the man. They found the man trying to leave the area around noon.
Deputies found a handgun and ammunition.
That same evening deputies responded to the same area where Francis was origially spotted for a burglary complaint.
Deputies say a home had been entered and numerous items were removed.
The handgun that was found when Franics was arrested had been taken from the home, according to Massac County Sheriff’s deputies.
They says the clothes that Francis was wearing when we was arrested had also been taken from the home.
Deputies also say numerous other items that Francis had were determined to be from the home.
Francis is being held without bond in the Massac County Detention Center.
